A mining services company won a major tender in Queensland’s Isaac region.
A subsidiary of CIMIC Group recently secured the mining services contract for BHP Mitsubishi Alliance’s Caval Ridge Coal Mine, 188km southwest of Mackay.
Starting in December 2022 successful bidder Thiess will potentially spend another five years mining, operating and maintaining mine equipment at the work site. AMR can reveal the deal is worth up to $600 million.
The contractor has advertised several job vacancies, including:
- truck and multiskilled operators (multiple positions)
- finance and administration manager
- production operators (multiple)
- excavator operators (multiple)
- leading hand (maintenance)
- servicepersons (multiple)
- diesel fitters (multiple)
- trade assistant
- boilermaker
- tyre fitter.
“We will continue to drive long-term economic value by creating local jobs and regional supply opportunities, and supporting the communities where we operate,” Thiess Australia east executive general manager Cluny Randell said in a public statement.
