SNC-Lavalin has been named Senior Lenders’ Technical Adviser for the Roy Hill Iron Ore project in WA and will be working on behalf of the ANZ bank.
“We are pleased to have a continued role with the Roy Hill project,” said Marius van Tonder, Senior Vice-President and Regional Manager, Asia Pacific, SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. “This role demonstrates our continued commitment to providing experienced engineering project delivery services to the iron ore industry in Australia.
The appointment of an engineering adviser is a requirement of the Project’s syndicated loan facilities agreement. In the role, SNC-Lavalin will provide various services including witnessing completion tests, providing certifications and reporting for the duration of the project. SNC-Lavalin was previously engaged as the Independent Technical Engineer, providing due diligence to the Senior Lenders prior to the execution of the financing documents.
The Project is located in the Chichester Ranges, approximately 277 kilometres south of Port Hedland in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. (ANZ is acting as Intercreditor Agent for itself and on behalf of the senior lenders.)
