A diversified mining services company has received a contract extension for one of the biggest open-pit precious metal mines in Western Australia. Multiple positions are available.
Ausdrill recently secured extensions for its existing contracts for Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines’ (KCGM’s) Super Pit, 600km east of Perth.
The agreement involves providing drilling, blasting and grade control services for another five years at the gold mine. Ausdrill has operated at the pit for almost 30 years and employs about 80 staff at the mine who all live locally.
KCGM is hiring for the following positions:
- open pit mine geologist (24-month fixed term)
- reliability engineer – mobile maintenance
- underground drill and blast engineer
- mechanical engineer
- maintenance engineer
- reliability engineer
- senior shutdown planner
- condition monitoring technician
- maintenance scheduler
- voids technician
- experienced shovel operators
- experienced ancillary operators
- experienced truck operators
- underground heavy duty fitter
- underground truck operator
- process technicians

AMR can reveal the renewed contract is worth $143 million.
Ausdrill has separately been awarded a $60m contract extension for three years for exploration drilling services at Gold Fields’ St Ives Gold Mine and Granny Smith Gold Mine.
“Ausdrill’s relationship with KCGM and Gold Fields and our involvement at these three mines extends back to the very early days of our business,” Ausdrill managing director Ron Sayers says.
