A Western Australian energy drink producer has been blamed for a failed drug test at a mine site.

The company, Preflight Energy, has hit back at those claims on social media saying their product does not contain ingredients that would show a positive reading on a drug test.

The PreFlight Energy products are distributed to the Murrin Murrin nickel-cobalt operations in WA.

“We have been informed that someone onsite failed a drug test for methamphetamine and is trying to blame Preflight,” the company wrote on their Facebook page.

“The reason why some pre-workout supplements show a positive reading is because of the use of ingredients such as DMAA or DMAE (geranium extract) Preflight does not contain either of those ingredients or any other substance that could produce a false positive.

“If this is a concern of yours, be rest assured that you a 100% safe with Preflight.”

The company also said the energy drink “has some features of top-end sports supplements to improve muscular endurance, cardio output and recovery”.

According to media reports, the Minara Resources operation did not confirm PreFlight Energy’s claims.
