Remote employees are still required at a mining operation in Queensland’s north western region.
A variety of fly-in fly-out (FIFO) job vacancies still need to be filled at Austral Resources’ Anthill Project, 128km north of Mount Isa.
Mining and maintenance contractor Thiess Australia is on the hunt for permanent FIFO employees who are trustworthy, accountable, innovative and reliable.
The following positions have been advertised:
- dump truck operators (multiple positions)
- auto electricians (multiple)
- service people (multiple)
- tyre fitters (multiple).
Click here to apply. Successful applicants will be offered a rotating roster of either 14 days on 14 days off, or seven days on seven days off. Each shift lasts 12 hours and can be either day- or night-time.
Flights will be provided departing from Brisbane, Townsville and Cairns. Full camp accommodation and salary sacrifice options are available.

The contractor, which is part of CIMIC Group, will spend almost three years mining overburden and ore at the mine site.
Austral recently confirmed work is underway on bulk mining and the heap leach solvent extraction plant. Site infrastructure, pit areas, plant, and haul roads are also in progress. First ore is expected to be mined sometime in April 2022.
“The Anthill mine is a hive of activity with two blast rigs working ahead of the mining fleet to deliver broken ground,” chief executive Steve Tambanis said in a public statement.
“We have 100 personnel onsite to undertake the Anthill mine development and plant refurbishment prior to ore deliveries from April this year. Multiple mining contractors are working safely and seamlessly to assist Austral achieve planned copper production of 10,000 tonnes per annum commencing mid-2022.”
