A mine contractor has been found dead in his room at the Red October accommodation camp near Laverton on Western Australia’s Goldfields.
A statement released late yesterday by mine owner, Saracen Mineral Holdings, said the man was found “passed away overnight”.
WA police were notified and told The West Australian that the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Speaking to the West Australian, Managing Director of Saracen, Mr Raleigh Finlayson said,”This is a very sad occurrence and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends and work mates of the man at this time.”
According to The West Australian, “The majority of personnel work for NSW-based Pybar Mining Services, which holds the mining, underground development and diamond drilling contract at Red October.”
