A resources multinational made a major investment in employee conditions.
BHP recently upgraded 10,756 rooms across 13 accommodation villages. The proponent revealed it sourced everything from domestic manufacturers, local contractors and Indigenous-owned suppliers.
“More than 10,000 doors, 8000 lights, 1500 CCTV cameras and 4.75km of fencing [were] installed,” Western Australian Iron Ore NPI general manager Kate Holling said in a public statement.
“Safety continues to be our number one priority and I am happy to see this work complete to make our villages feel safer and more accessible for everyone who visits them.”
AMR can reveal the deal is worth $300 million.
