The Queensland Mining Contractors Awards are now open with nominations being sought in six categories for projects delivered in Queensland from June 2012 to December 2013.
Entries are open to Queensland businesses large and small with categories ranging from innovations to reduce project costs or timeframes to equal opportunity programs. Nomination entry forms can be downloaded from www.bbminingclub.com/awards
Organiser of the Awards and Director of the Bowen Basin Mining Club, Jodie Currie, said the awards will showcase contractors who have driven innovation in the sector.
“The Awards will recognise the efforts of companies that have been the most dynamic in recent years. Companies that have tailored their offerings and been innovative in their project delivery to help manage pressures faced by their clients,” she said.
“We are calling for entries in a highly competitive industry, to separate stand-out contractors for state-wide, industry recognition.
“These are the companies who have gone the extra mile for their clients, the best of the best, and they deserve the recognition.
“Awards are independent gold stamps of endorsement for companies and are designed especially for that purpose. And you shouldn’t overlook the boost to morale and kudos they provide staff,” said Ms Currie.
Award finalists and winners will be announced at the Queensland Mining & Engineering Exhibition (QME) this July at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre. An independent panel of judges will be announced later this month.
“Tickets for the presentation dinner are already reserved for our major industry players, who are keen to see all the entries,” said Ms Currie.
