Queensland Mining and Engineering Exhibition (QME) 2018 has announced over 230 exhibitors will be attending this year’s event, this is an increase of 41% on QME 2016 and includes global industry heavyweights Downer Group, thyssenkrupp and Flender.
According to the Mining in Australia 2018-2032 Report, mining production is likely to grow 5.5 per cent in the current financial year, with maintenance spending also on the rise and the investment decline winding down.[1] Global heavyweights at QME will provide invaluable global perspectives and cover new technologies to support the predicted growth trajectory.
QME has a strong history of attracting buyers and decision makers in the mining and engineering field to Mackay who benefit from seeing thousands of products, having access to seminar sessions and being able to catch up with peers at the various networking events.
Brandon Ward, Director of QME, said this year’s exhibition will host the strongest line up of suppliers in recent years which will be complemented by live demonstrations and workshops from a diverse set of suppliers.
“QME brings together leading companies both big and small under one roof to interact with leaders, decision makers, and personnel from the mining and engineering field.” said Brandon Ward, Director of QME 2018.
“It also gives the many local Mackay companies present at the event an opportunity to showcase their extensive capabilities to a highly engaged audience which opens up new business opportunities for them and for the region.”
Australian multinational company Downer Group will be unveiling the latest in its haul road solutions at QME 2018, solutions that are set to save the industry millions. Currently being debuted in Western Australia, the integrated service provider’s new developments are creating efficiencies in all conditions, with better fuel usage, less tyre wear and less dust especially during wet running. Six different divisions will attend this year’s event, from explosives products and services through Downer Blasting Services, to facility management through newly-acquired services giant Spotless.
Also taking part in QME 2018 will be thyssenkrupp, the diversified industrial group with over 200 years of engineering excellence with German roots. Combining local engineering and multi-disciplinary project management, thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions will be demonstrating their exceptional, sustainable and technologically advanced engineering solutions in mining, oil & gas, cement, sugar and power.
In a huge year for industry announcements, QME 2018 has been chosen by Flender as the perfect opportunity to launch its new rebrand since announcing its separation from Siemens. Under the new rebrand and operation, Flender will provide a sharper, business-specific focus, allowing it to implement its growth plans faster, more flexibly and more efficiently in a challenging and competitive environment. Flender will showcase its stability and process reliability of a global corporation, with the customer proximity and pragmatism of a medium-sized company.
QME 2018 will also feature a Business Matching Program which offers visitors a personalised itinerary of products and companies matched to their areas of interest, to maximise their time on-site.
Engineers, mining personnel, production managers, and other people who work in the mining and engineering field are encouraged to register early for QME 2018.
